I have heard that if you are active duty military that you get approved basically for any sort of loan. I was wondering if there is also cheaper insurance and things for military. I saw a website that seemed like it was all kinds of insurances for just military personnel, and it was very reasonable. I was just wondering if it is true that you can finance a new car easily, or what? Thanks for the info.

well i wouldn't say it's easy to finance anything being in the army.... a lot of soldiers have horrible credit. to answer your question though..

all i know is USAA is awesome. they got everything for your financial needs. car insurance through them saved me almost $200 of what i was paying.

There ARE some programs out there to help soldiers finance a vehicle. You don't always qualify for them though.

And, you can be turned down for loans, if your credit isn't going enough. Being in the military does not guarantee you a loan, just a paycheck.

As far as insurance, you can try USAA, but we saved about $400 per year by switching from USAA to Geico Military.

You don't get approved for any sort of loan there is still your FICO score which will gauge the interest rate you will receive

USAA is a big benefit to being a Military Service member they are a great banking and insurance institute who actually server their customers and aren't just out to make that next fee on you

There are some benefits for being in the military and USAA is golden like the other guy said.

However, if you plan on buying a car after joining you need to be careful since some car dealerships actually prey on new service members just coming out of basic. They might rip you off by overcharging you for a car and cause you to get a high interest rate. If you miss a payment they will be quick to call your commander and tell on you.
